The other day I woke up and decided that I was going to do a face mask before the kids get up. Typically, I try doing my face masks at night but this time something was telling me I needed one at that very moment. I woke up after having maybe 4 hours of sleep. My eyes were puffy, dark circles to the max and my skin felt pretty dang dry. #momlife
I made a pretty drastic change to my skin care routine when I became pregnant with my first baby. I wanted to focus ONLY on natural face masks and skin care. I pushed myself to remember and do a mask at least once a week. I loved how I could typically find any ingredient needed for my masks in my fridge and within 15-20 minutes, my skin felt amazing. My skin is happier and healthier!
I started to do my little pinterest search to find my perfect face mask and came across cucumber masks. After all one of the biggest benefits of cucumber is its power to reduce puffiness and dark circles. Sign me up!
Not only does a cucumber have those amazing benefits they don’t require much to make it.
You can find a few of my favorites that I found, tried and loved listed below. A side preference that I had during my test of these masks were to shred the cucumber and utilizing the peel, juice and all.
After I wash my face and neck (because you will want to use all masks on your neck too) with warm water with all of these, my face felt moisturized, soft and brighter. I truly felt like I was glowing the entire day. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
*Consult your doctor prior to use. If you have specific skin care needs or requirements, use products with caution and/or care. Not all natural ingredients work well with every skin type.
*During my research I found several different masks, benefits and more from these amazing sites:
"I never knew how hard it would be to take care of myself after having kids..."
"I feel like the whole day goes by and I have no idea what I did"
"Why didn't anyone tell me how lonely motherhood is?"
"I just can't seem to motivate to go outside or talk to other moms."
"Why didn't my pediatrician walk me through understanding the development milestones for each month?"
“I am taking care of myself today!”
Do those words sound familiar? I was admittedly the first time mom who would tell myself this message repeatedly, yet I would never follow through. When it got to the point where I felt like I couldn’t recognize myself anymore both inside and out, I decided that I needed to be done with the excuses. I didn’t want to glance in the mirror and see a worn down, tired, and unhealthy version of myself.
